If this sounds like you, seize the opportunity and apply to become our new Public Affairs Manager.

The Role

In this position, you will actively pursue Novo Nordisk's purpose to drive change in defeating serious chronic diseases through positive and collaborative external relations. You will establish Novo Nordisk Portugal as a trusted partner committed to promoting better health in Portugal.

You will be:

  • Influencing and shaping public policies to secure our license to operate and create a favorable business environment for society, patients, and Novo Nordisk.
  • Developing a network of stakeholders to co-create value and garner third-party support in addressing an increasingly complex, science-driven, diverse, and interconnected external environment.
  • Working collaboratively and strategically with patient organizations to support their advocacy efforts.
  • Managing strategic partnerships to tackle social and environmental challenges, positioning Novo Nordisk as a responsible and sustainable business.

Qualifications

A relevant bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations, or related fields is required. A master's degree in Public Affairs, Public Administration, Health Policy, Environmental Policy, or related fields would be advantageous.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public affairs, healthcare policy advocacy, or government relations, ideally within the healthcare sector.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, and advocacy efforts.
  • Experience collaborating with patient organizations on advocacy initiatives and building sustainable partnerships.
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret the political and policy-making environment related to healthcare and patient access.
  • Experience in developing and executing public affairs plans to drive policy change and influence public debates.
  • Confident use of advocacy materials, scientific evidence, and health economic resources to articulate our position clearly tailored to the audience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Team

You will join a small and growing team of three members, closely collaborating with the Communication Department and working cross-functionally. As the department is new, you will have a significant impact on shaping it. Expect close collaboration with colleagues and an open relationship built on mutual trust.
