Join Us as Public Affairs Manager

In this role, you will play a key part in actively pursuing Novo Nordisk's mission to combat serious chronic diseases by fostering positive and collaborative external relationships. We aim to establish Novo Nordisk Portugal as a trusted partner committed to enhancing health in Portugal.

You will:

  • Influence and shape public policies to ensure our license to operate and create a conducive business environment that benefits society, patients, and Novo Nordisk.
  • Build a network of stakeholders to co-create value and garner third-party support in navigating an increasingly complex, science-driven, diverse, and interconnected external landscape.
  • Collaborate strategically with patient organizations to bolster their advocacy endeavors.
  • Manage strategic partnerships to tackle social and environmental challenges, positioning Novo Nordisk as a responsible and sustainable business through its history, governance, and corporate initiatives.

Requirements

A relevant bachelor's degree in public policy, Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field is mandatory.
A master's degree in Public Affairs, Public Administration, Health Policy, Environmental Policy, or a related field would be advantageous.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in public affairs, healthcare policy advocacy, or government relations, preferably within the healthcare sector.
  • A proven track record in stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, and advocacy endeavors.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with patient organizations on advocacy initiatives and fostering sustainable partnerships.
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend the political and policy-making landscape concerning healthcare and patient access, particularly its implications for the pharmaceutical industry and our company.
  • Experience in formulating and implementing public affairs strategies to drive policy changes and influence public discourse.
  • Proficient in using advocacy materials, scientific evidence, and health economic resources to communicate our position clearly and tailored to the audience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

About our Team

You will be part of a growing and evolving team of three members. You will collaborate closely with the Communication Department and engage in cross-functional work. Given the department's newness, you will have a significant impact on its development. Additionally, you can anticipate working in harmony with other team members in an environment built on trust.
