About St Julian's School:

We are a highly successful, non-selective 3-18 British international school with a reputation for academic excellence, founded in 1932. We currently have just over 1,200 students from over 50 different nationalities.

The School has three sections:
Primary, Secondary, and Portuguese. There are 640 students in the Secondary Section.

We have been accredited by CIS (Council of International Schools) and NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) since 1998, an Accredited Member of COBIS and our Head are an International Member of HMC (Heads' Conference).


We value skills-based learning along with meeting the rigorous requirements of the National Curriculum for England, International GCSEs, and IB Diploma Programme.

St Julian's provides a 1:1 iPad programme for students in KS3 and all students bring their own laptops in KS4 and 5.

We use Google Apps for Education as a learning platform. All teaching staff works with Macbooks.

Secondary Teacher Job Description:

To facilitate the learning of students and promote the effective development of all individuals in our learning community.

  • To develop a necessary intervention in and out of the classroom where a child is not making expected progress

Person specification:

Essential

  • Ability to teach Biology and ESS to Key Stage
  • Ability to teach all 3 sciences to Key Stage
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • A relevant degree level qualification.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Innovative approaches to teaching science.
  • Commitment to professional learning.
  • Proactive and positive team member.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Experience of teaching IBDP Biology.
  • Experience of teaching ESS.
  • Experience of and desire to teach TOK.
