Overview Of Role The CAD Deputy Discipline Manager manages the local CAD Office or a segment of a large CAD Office by directing, developing, communicating, and implementing the company's direction and strategic goals.
He/she will contribute to business development and marketing internally to the company's employees as well as externally to the clients as required.
Participate in the development of department strategy, including structure, personnel, procedural and services.Responsibilities may include business development, budget control, project & resource management, engineering operations, performance management, training, and all other related business activities.
The main responsibilities will be as follow: Provide leadership for CAD office personnel ensuring the delivery of quality work and services.
Identify project resource requirements and allocation management via company tools.Undertake checking of others work.
Assess resource requests and provide feedback on feasibility.
Participate in recruitment of personnel ensuring appropriate screening is applied.
Independently evaluate, organise, and prioritise work for self and others.
Conduct performance assessment reviews of team members.
Ensure department personnel are aware of and adhere to the company standards.
Participate in technical audits of projects and studies.
Actively participate in relevant training and development to pursue continuing professional development.
Identify, evaluate, and encourage training, for all team members.
Participate in reviews and development of departmental procedures and work methods.
Interface with discipline leads and / or group leads to ensure CAD deliverable schedule is being met and budget is on track.
Responsible for ensuring that design services comply with company standards and processes in line with appropriate legislation.Manage internal and external CAD Office interfaces.
Support development of department structure and succession planning.
Ensure department time is recorded and approved.
Encourage recording of lessons learned and Opportunities for Improvement.
PROFILE:
Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (others may be considered);Minimum of 12 years of working experience;Minimum of 2 years of leadership/team management with strong ability to lead a design team across multiple projects;Strong communication skills and keen interest to work with other disciplines/departments;Passion for team development, training, and mentoring of team members;Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD, Vault & Inventor software, and MS Office;Very good knowledge of steel structures design and installation methodologies (background in offshore energy sector is a plus);Problem solver mindset with critical eyes for the details;Excellent ability to work within a multi-disciplined and multicultural team;Solid skills of English are required (comprehension and communication);OUR OFFER We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
