THE ROLE
The Head of Network Optimization will be responsible for the development, evolution and synchronisation of our physical operating model.

Taking an End to End view of the Network, this role is critical to design, align and implement the Farfetch Supply Chain of the future.


As the leader of the operational forecasting team, you will use our volume expectations, together with a thorough understanding of our End to End fulfilment process to support levelling and capacity planning for all the functions in the network.


Additionally to this you will lead the design team using simulation tools to describe, simulate and optimise our network with a longer term view, creating a network that is more profitable, more sustainable and that delivers better service to our customers.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Make use of transactional and network related data to help identify the main triggers of profitability, sustainability and customer preference that fall under the remit of Supply Chain.
  • Liaise with the Logistics, Commercial, Tax and Strategy Teams to identify improvements to the network. Use advanced Simulation tools (Digital Twin in Anylogic) to test them.
  • Continuously challenge the location, dimension and cost of our warehouses, proposing iterations to the network such as opening or consolidating locations.
  • Continuously challenge our delivery capabilities, service and costs in our main routes proposing consolidation of existing carriers or acquisition of new ones.
  • Lead the operational forecasting team supporting all the operational planning functions in the Supply Chain.
  • Map the order flow throughout the Supply Chain, use forecast and visibility to identify alignment, synchronisation or levelling issues and create the initiatives to resolve them.
  • Measure and report the Carbon Footprint of our Supply Chain. Lead the sustainability initiatives in Supply Chain.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 7+ years experienced in operations management or consultancy in Supply Chain Strategy and Design within Retail and/or Ecommerce environments.
  • A BA or master's in economics, engineering, statistics, management or supply chain.
  • A great communicator, with the ability to develop a vision and inspire stakeholders from all levels in the organisation.
  • A highly organised and analytical professional, capable of turning data into knowledge and knowledge into a vision.
  • An extraordinary modeller, capable of leading the creation of simulations that feed all our strategic decisions by predicting their impact on Customer service, cost and sustainability.
  • An experienced people manager, able to manage small teams of very specialised data analysts/scientists and steer them towards the critical questions.
  • Fluent in English (both oral and written).
