Actuarial Consulting Junior Analyst for Ireland

Mission:


As a consulting analyst, you will work as part of a team supporting consultants in all aspects of pensions consulting, investment and actuarial work on both corporate and trustee clients.


You will work directly with Ireland-based consultants and support teams in Portugal and Ireland to coordinate and manage the delivery of services to our clients.


We will rely on you to:

  • Support your client team on project management, day-to-day client contact, problem resolution and draft correspondence to clients on a range of consulting issues.
  • Undertake actuarial modelling, spreadsheet modelling and calculations, including valuations, individual calculations, regular updates, actuarial factors and accounting work.
  • Liaise with other Mercer business areas to deliver a streamlined service to clients.
  • Be involved in adhoc project work as required, for example, risk management exercises, redundancy projects, etc.
  • Supporting in the preparation of Trustee meetings packs;
  • Support the business in some nonbillable task such as billing process, general analysis, etc.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelors or Master's in Actuarial, Mathematics, Economics, Management, Finance or similar.
  • Desired professional or academic background in Actuarial science and/or in consulting;
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is critical and strong problem solving skills & ability to clearly articulate complex issues.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills in order to prioritise and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks, in order to meet the multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and clients. Comfortable dealing with clients contacts.

  • Advance Microsoft Office skills (in particular a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Sometimes, adherence to tight deadlines will be important.
