About St. Julian's School

Founded in 1932, we are a highly successful, 3-18 British international school with a reputation for academic excellence. We currently have just over 1,200 students from over 50 different nationalities. The School has three sections: Primary, Secondary and Bilingual. The Primary Section is a three-form entry and has 480 pupils.

We broadly follow the National Curriculum for England leading to IGCSEs and the IB Diploma Programme. Google Apps for Education is used across the whole school as a learning and administration platform and all teaching and teaching support staff are given their own MacBook Air.

STEAM Specialist job descriptionCore purpose

We are looking for a passionate Primary STEAM Specialist to inspire and engage our primary pupils. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in STEAM subjects and a commitment to delivering high-quality education through creative and hands-on approaches. Relevant experience in teaching or leading STEAM subjects using an integrated approach would be beneficial. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a stimulating STEAM curriculum that aligns with the National Curriculum for England while catering to the unique needs of our international community.

Key responsibilitiesDevelop and deliver an engaging and comprehensive STEAM curriculum for primary pupils.Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and a love for STEAM subjects.Utilise innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance learning experiences.Collaborate with colleagues and current subject leaders to integrate STEAM activities across various subjects.Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.Organise and lead extracurricular STEAM clubs, projects, and events.Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.Stay current with educational trends and advancements in STEAM education.Person specificationQualifications and experienceA degree in Education or a relevant STEAM field and possess a recognised teaching qualification.At least three years teaching experience in the UK or a British international school.Demonstrate a commitment to the widerlife of the school.A strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for England.A commitment to providing equal opportunities for all learners.Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.An ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse learning needs.Possess a strong understanding of primary education and safeguarding requirements.Experience in using technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.A commitment to professional growth and development.Positivity, perseverance and a good sense of humour.DesirableProven experience teaching STEAM subjects at the primary level.Benefits
