Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Core Network Engineer to join our dynamic team in the telecommunications sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our core network infrastructure, focusing on both Gigabit Passive Optical Networks (GPON) and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) networks.

This role requires a deep understanding of network protocols, performance optimization, and troubleshooting techniques to ensure seamless connectivity and high-quality service for our customers.

Additionally, the candidate must possess expertise in routing and switching to manage and optimize network traffic effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Implementation

  • Develop and implement core network architecture for GPON and FWA systems.
  • Plan and execute network expansions and upgrades to accommodate growth and new technologies.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate core network systems with other network components and services.
Network Maintenance and Support

  • Monitor network performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure optimal operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to GPON and FWA systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates to network hardware and software.
Optimization and Security

  • Optimize network performance through continuous monitoring, tuning, and traffic management.
  • Implement and maintain robust network security measures to protect against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for network failures or breaches.
Routing and Switching

  • Design, configure, and manage routing and switching solutions to support network infrastructure.
  • Ensure efficient and secure routing of network traffic to maintain high performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to routing and switching.
Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and protocols.
  • Prepare detailed reports on network performance, incidents, and resolutions.
  • Provide regular updates to management on network status and improvement plans.
Training and Development

  • Mentor and train junior network engineers and technical staff.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in GPON, FWA, and routing and switching technologies.
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, etc.) are a plus.
Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in core network engineering, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
  • Proven experience with GPON and FWA network technologies and systems.
  • Expertise in routing and switching technologies and protocols.
Skills and Competencies

  • Indepth knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, and others.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
Working Conditions

  • Fulltime position with occasional oncall responsibilities.
  • Some travel may be required for site assessments and network deployments.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
