The role :

The Senior Accounting Manager, reporting to the Head of Record to Report, plays a crucial role within the department, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the company's financial records and reports. This resource oversees the general ledger function, coordinates with teams to manage monthly and annual close processes, and ensures compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic leadership, in-depth knowledge of IFRS principles, and a strong capability in driving efficiency and process improvements across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership and Oversight: Provide strategic direction and oversight for the general ledger function, ensuring financial reporting and compliance with IFRS and other applicable standards.
  • Team Structure and Development: Coach and coordinates the team leaders, overseeing the teams, ensuring they have the necessary support and guidance. Promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and professional development within the finance department.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Process and System Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and system implementations to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control within the general ledger function.
  • Audit and Internal Controls: Act as liaison for external and internal audit activities, facilitating the audit process and ensuring the preparation of required documentation. Oversee the development and enforcement of internal controls and policies related to financial reporting and record-keeping.
  • Ensure high standard deliverables as, among others, timely tasks performance, high quality reconciliations, KPI achievement.
  • Collaborate with the head of department, the GPO and the other departments to improve the processes and policies and design new KPIs

Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • BSc/BA in accounting, finance or related field. Master's degree or CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • At least 8 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role overseeing a finance or accounting team, including experience managing team leaders.
  • Deep understanding of IFRS principles, financial reporting, and compliance regulations.
  • Adaptability, problem-solving, and strategic thinking as well as capability of manage the complexity of a transforming organization and a multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading process improvement initiatives and adopting technology solutions to enhance financial operations.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in advanced ERP systems, Blackline and accounting software.
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in SSC/GBS in a multinational environment and in a similar industry are a plus.

  • Fluency in English
