We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team in Faro. As a Sous Chef you will be responsible for assisting the head chef in managing the kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes. You must have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment and must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head chef in creating and implementing menus that meet quality standards
- Oversee and manage kitchen staff including training scheduling and monitoring performance
- Ensure all food preparation and cooking is carried out according to recipes and standards
- Monitor portion control food waste and inventory levels
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times
- Handle any customer complaints or concerns regarding food quality or service
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques equipment and ingredients
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English Portuguese language skills are preferred
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
Education
A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred but not required Professional certifications are also an asset
Salary
We offer a competitive salary of 1500$ per month for this full-time position
