Exide Technologies' Energy Solutions division is developing and manufacturing stationary energy storage batteries, from backup power to large-scale storage systems (BESS and C&I).

Our storage systems are used in UPS, Telecom, Datacenters, Public Transport, in Front-of- and Behind-the-Meter applications and many more.
About the job: For our fast growing division Energy Solutions in Castanheira do Ribatejo, Portugal at the earliest possible date we are looking for a: CI Specialist.
Reporting to the CI & PMO Manager of the division, your mission will be driving organizational change and enhancing efficiency through SIX SIGMA and LEAN projects and KAIZEN Events.
What will your daily responsibilities include in this role?
Contribute to CI strategy definition for the year.
Support plant in identification of potential savings / opportunities for improvement to achieve the yearly savings target.
Participate and support Kaizen workshops in the plant.
Support plant teams in terms of methodology (problem solving, Lean workshops etc…).
Support a change on production and continuous improvement mindset; Follow-up scrap reduction & productivity improvement projects.
Monitor plant CI savings.
What we ask for: Engineer with 3 years' experience in industry, mainly in continuous improvement.
Good experience in manufacturing is mandatory and experience in quality would be a plus.
Good experience in leading lean manufacturing workshops (SMED, Hoshin, VSM, Pull flow, 5S etc…) & problem solving (8D, 5W, PDCA, 6 Sigma, etc.
); Professional & fluent English is mandatory.
Good knowledge of statistics tools & Minitab.
Six Sigma Black Belt (preferential).
Experience in project Management (preferential).
Communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Strong attention to detail and good planning and organization skills.
Strong sense of responsibility.
Problem solving and decision making.
Results orientation.
