NoOffer DescriptionFocused thesis topic: Family commitment.A brief explanation: The notion of family commitment covers the various aspects of family life, within a couple or between a parent and child.When we think of family commitment, we see, underneath the sum of obligations (alimony, etc.), a founding act of the family, in its unity and in its variations: unilateral or reciprocal commitment, spontaneous or reflected, formal or informal. Doctoral research will go beyond these examples alone and explore the variety of family commitments, adapting to the multiple realities of family structures.Viewed through the prism of legal pluralism, is family commitment just as certain for each of these adult members? Family commitment depends on the creation of legal and social ties between the members of a family, including marriage, PACS, cohabitation, filiation and so on.The thesis will analyse the genesis of family commitment and its recognition by third parties. The emergence of this commitment will make it possible to measure what is essential to the formation of family ties through legal acts and de facto situations, presiding over various obligations and solidarities.Where to applyE-mail: ****** Field: Juridical sciences » Private lawEducation Level: Master Degree or equivalentSkills/Qualifications:(1) Hold a master's degree in private law by 1st October 2024, with honours.(2) Have written a thesis argument and a bibliography on the subject, which are convincing evidence of the ability to undertake doctoral research on the subject in question.(3) Be able to present, during the audition, their academic background, the merits of their analysis of the subject and the timetable for their research over the 3 years of the doctoral contract. Experience as a tutor or supervisor in civil law is a strong asset.(4) Have written a civil law dissertation on a classic or topical issue in the law of persons, family law, and the law of obligations, including a bibliography compiled in accordance with academic standards.To apply for the thesis project funded by the Université de Caen Normandie, candidates must hold a master's degree in private law or be in the process of obtaining one by 1st September 2024. A distinction (AB, etc.) must have been obtained in Master 1 or 2.In addition, candidates must have taken civil law courses throughout their university course (introduction to law, law of persons, law of property, law of obligations (contracts, civil liability, RGO), law of matrimonial property regimes, law of gifts and inheritance, law of special contracts and law of securities) and have obtained an average grade in the written civil law tests.Specific Requirements:The application must be submitted in the form of a single PDF document, with numbered pages. The entire document must contain:A covering letter briefly describing the candidate's research interests and explaining the reasons for applying (1 to 2 p.).The thesis argument must be accompanied by a quarterly research programme over 3 years (2 to 4 p.).An academic bibliography on the subject of the thesis (minimum 10 p.).A curriculum vitae (CV), including an e-mail address and mobile phone number, and a table summarising the civil law subjects taken during the university course, with the grades obtained in the bachelor's or master's degree.Certified copies of marks, diplomas and documents attesting to the completion of courses and the award of a law degree and a master's degree in private law (civil law course).The contact details of two referees or people in a position to recommend the candidate for the doctoral research project targeted and funded.A research dissertation on a subject of civil law, addressing a classic or topical issue in the law of persons or the law of the family, or the law of obligations (Minimum size 60 p.).
