The current group portfolio consists of 3 National, 3 European and 2 Industrial service projects in a team of close to 30 researchers. These projects are helping Portugal, Iberia and Europe to incorporate nanotechnology in a multitude of applications and to increase our understanding of nanotechnology. The group interacts with an assortment of partners, from academia to the industry including policy makers and state officials. Our mission is to revolutionise energy and optoelectronic devices through cutting-edge nanotechnology.We are looking for a qualified Research Engineer to join the team in the R&D in products – Energy Generation (BIPV) project from the R2U Technologies Agenda, under the PRR framework.Job DutiesNanofabrication of passivation structures for thin film solar cells; Electrical modelling; CIGS solar cell fabrication and characterisation; Technical reporting.Mandatory QualificationsEducationMSc in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Micro and Nanofabrication, Engineering or related areas.Experience and Technical SkillsElectrical modelling; CIGS solar cells;Nanoimprint lithography; Nanofabrication.Other Valued SkillsExperience with clean room microfabrication; Optoelectronics characterisation and fabrication; Experience with Horizon Europe and other funded projects; Experience writing technical reports.Personal Skills"Hands-on" approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines; Problem Solving ability; Customer orientation; Ability to work independently and as a team player; Good communication skills.Our BenefitsCompetitive salary; Tax benefits and other Diplomatic privileges; Private health insurance; Family allowances (according to family situation); Free nursery service at INL premises (subject to availability); Support for education fees of dependent children; Relocation support;30 working days of annual leave.How to ApplyThe application must be in English and include the following mandatory documents:a) Cover letter; b) Curriculum Vitae;c) Academic and/or Professional diplomas; d) Recognition of academic degrees (only academic degrees awarded by non-Portuguese higher education institutions)
