We're expanding our team of Field Technicians who are trained to build, setup, and debug our hardware devices. These professionals receive ongoing training across all technical departments such as electronics, mechanical, firmware, and software. These team members are hands-on power-users who deal directly with our clients and partners either to install and debug devices but also to train outsourced professionals who will become independent technicians themselves. They are also the main contact point with our clients so they are excellent communicators. Our Technicians spend half of their time in our office in Porto and the other half traveling around the globe and visiting our customers in Turkey, Italy, Germany and so on, that is why they speak fluent English and sometimes other languages. As a Smartex Technician, you will be asked to translate complex technical matters to simple and concise terms on a daily basis. Technical certification in the field, or similar; Experience in dealing with technical repairs in industry; Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical problems; Experience in troubleshooting and repairing hardware problems; Basic knowledge of networking and respective technologies; Ability to learn new technologies; Self-driven with a proactive nature; Customer-oriented mindset; Proven communication and interpersonal skills; Fluent in English (spoken and written); Extra points for Turkish, and other languages; Strong working knowledge of hand and power tools; You are a fantastic team player with great references from previous/current co-workers; You are adventurous and want to see more of the world; Extra points for experience in the textile industry or other manufacturing activities. Install, test and maintain the Smartex products around the world (EU and non-EU); Provide technical support to other internal teams when requested; Troubleshoot software and hardware problems using diagnostic tools; Diagnose and solve problems based on non-technical descriptions from customers; Fixing defective partsand ordering the respective spares; Mentoring new and existing Smartex technicians (internal and from third parties); Train customers to handle and maintain Smartex products; Follows installation and operation manuals; Handling and moving heavy equipment and machinery parts; Writes service reportsafter interventions; Handling customer relations in a professional and friendly manner.
