.Financial Director Medical Cannabis Industry Carregado, Lisbon, Portugal 3-4 times a week in the office located in Carregado required (40 min drive from Lisbon) Company Overview: Our client is one of the leading Medical Cannabis Pharmaceutical companies in Europe, specializing in the production, manufacturing, and distribution of innovative cannabis-based medical products. With a commitment to advancing healthcare through research and development, our client provides high-quality medicinal cannabis medicines to improve the lives of patients worldwide. They have an EU GMP facility located near Lisbon, where they produce cannabis medicines, to then be distributed all over the world, including Australia, Germany & the UK. They were founded over 4 years ago and have over 60 employees. Position Overview: As the Financial Director, you will report directly to the CEO, playing a pivotal role in driving efficiency and profitability across the organization. You will be responsible for all the financial strategy for the company. You will be the most senior in the company in relation to finances. Currently, the finance team has 3 people, including a Head of Accounting. As the company is a fast growing scale-up, we are looking for financial directors who can be very strategic but also hands-on. Key Responsibilities: Developing and implementing financial strategies that align with the company's overall objectives. Leading the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. Overseeing the preparation and presentation of financial statements in accordance with local and international accounting standards. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and internal policies. Coordinating and supporting external and internal audits Identifying financial risks and developing strategies to mitigate them. Implementing and monitoring risk management policies and procedures. Managing the company & capital structure to ensure optimal balance between debt and equity. Overseeing funding and investment activities, including securing financing and managing relationships with investors and financial institutions Developing and implementing cost control measures to improve operational efficiency. Analyzing cost structures and identifying opportunities for cost reduction Providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making Building and maintaining relationships with banks, investors, and other financial partners. Requirements: Strong finance background Any Finance related degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills (e.G., Pivot Tables/Macros), ERP systems Track record in Senior Finance roles
