RAY BBDM is currently managing a search process for a large multinational company, based in Porto, that is looking for an Accountant Supervisor. This Accountant Supervisor will be part of a young and diverse Finance team, dealing with various international entities and liasing with many different internal and external stakeholders.

**Reporting to the Accountant Manager, the Accountant Supervisor will be responsible for**:

- Preparing the statutory Financial Statements (e.g., Financial Positions, Profit & Loss and notes to FS) under relevant standards;
- Contributing to the analysis of consolidated balance sheet at sub-consolidation level under 2 sets of reporting (IFRS and Directional);
- Providing support to consolidation issues (e.g., blocking controls of packages, I/CO mismatches, unrelevant Jnls);
- Participating in the monthly closing tasks;
- Preparing and/or reviewing journals for the relevant companies;
- Preparing yearly disclosures;
- Preparing accounting position papers to document non-recurring transactions with specific accounting treatment;
- Liaising with the group’s finance teams and with external auditors;
- Liaising with Joint Venture Partners (providing monthly packages, ensuring the quality of the figures, preparing the Board package and presentations for Steerco and board meetings);
- Ensuring internal control procedures are applied (IcoFr framework);
- Ensuring group accounting policies are applied in the accounting processes of the relevant companies;
- Responding to Ad hoc requests from the Accountant Manager.

**Job Requirements**:

- Finance & Accounting or Business School degree;
- 5 years of experience in an audit or accounting firm (subsequent experience in an international group will be valued);
- Solid accounting and IFRS knowledge, especially IFRS15 and IFRS16 (mandatory);
- Experience with statutory accounting and tax requirements;
- Previous team management experience will be valued;
- Agility with tools (e.g., ERP and Microsoft Excel);
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbally;
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills;
- Ability to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines, including in a turbulent/fast-moving environment;
- Analytical skills and critical thinking;
- Proactive team player;
- Flexibility for occasional travels;
- Availability to move to Porto.
