The Position
The Procurement Manager acts as the responsible for procurement of goods, Capex and services for Bial to use or sell, through targeting national and international markets, aiming towards the acquisition with the best conditions. This is a full-time position based at Bial Headquarters in Porto that reports to Director, Procurement.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify the organization purchasing needs;
- Align the procurement plan and the pool of preferred suppliers, together with the internal requisitioners;
- Develop and maintain effective methods to optimize spending in supplying goods, equipment and services, through RFx and negotiations, considering the different supply sources, assessing commercial proposals and managing contracts;
- Understand market access and analyse trends in order to make informed buying decisions;
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate to guarantee the best conditions for BIAL;
- Lead the critical productive cycle components and Capex negotiations, placing the orders and contracting according the best supply conditions (as in quality, cost or time), to support the critical business needs;
- Manage the P2P process
- Comply with the Policies, Standards and Procedures in place;
- Analyse and monitor supplier performance, implement corrective actions and develop performance improvement opportunities;
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, teams and colleagues as required, to support overall company objectives
- Coordinate or participate into work teams dedicated to projects (process improvement, new products, etc)
- Coordinate, support and coach other team members

Education and Qualifications
- Degree in Economics, Management or Engineering;
- Complementary training in procurement (preferred).

Experience
- Previous experience in similar role (6 years minimum) in pharma industry (preferred) or food industry (valued).

- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Excellent communication;
- High sense of responsibility, integrity and ethics;
- Client (internal and external) oriented;
- Solid IT skills;
- English skills (B2 minimum).
