**About Institute (UNU-EGOV)**:
In fulfillment of its purpose UNU-EGOV:

- carries out policy-relevant research;
- translates research findings into relevant policy instruments;
- builds and maintains research and policy networks to share the lessons learnt, foster mutual learning, and bridge research and policy worlds; and
- monitors, evaluates and disseminates the latest developments in the area.

The UNU-EGOV **Core Research Programme 2020-2024** is dedicated to the theme of “**Governance and digital transformation for inclusive, resilient and sustainable societies**”. It aims to consolidate and exploit the existing knowledge as well as to explore new learning to reach inclusion, development, sustainability and security worldwide.

Furthermore, it investigates the current and new digital governance challenges for a resilient society.

Research topics approached in the Core Research Programme include:

- Governance models and strategies for digital transformation of the public sector and society at large;
- Smart and sustainable cities and communities;
- Standards and regulatory issues related to interoperability, usability, data and privacy protection;
- Technology-enabled innovation including models, capacities and specific emerging concepts and technologies;
- Big data and AI including data capture, maintenance and data exchange;
- Technological service delivery, administrative burden reduction and anti-corruption, etc.

**Responsibilities**:
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Director of UNU-EGOV, the Capacity Building Senior Analyst ensures the execution of the following attributions:
**1. Lead the development of the UNU-EGOV capacity-building portfolio**:

- Enhancing the offer of capacity-building activities oriented toward Government Chief Information Officers and other EGOV stakeholders at all levels of Public Administration.
- Developing flagship courses and creating demand-driven training materials responsive to researchers and policymakers in the UNU-EGOV overall scientific domain.
- Conducting business development activities partnering with Administration and Researchers to plan, identify, develop, and submit different kinds of project/initiative proposals and collaborations as part of the Unit’s capacity-building effort.
- Contribute to discussions regarding the Units’ strategic and implementation plan.

**2. **Manage capacity-building projects throughout the full cycle**:

- Plan and draft capacity-building project proposals.
- Liaison with the donors to identify training needs and tailor syllabus as needed.
- Coordination of the lecturers and program support team to build an excellent experience for the participants during the course delivery.
- Conduct assessments and suggest adjustments based on feedback received.

**3. Networking activities for capacity-building**:

- Building on ongoing partnerships and collaborations, create new opportunities for collaborations within UNU-EGOV related to capacity-building dissemination.
- Conducting networking contacts and identifying opportunities for joint collaborations with high-reputed academic and governmental institutions as well as other think tanks, NGOs, and international organizations.
- Create and maintain an overview of capacity-building initiatives, including the collection of data and a summary of findings regarding existing offer of courses and trainings, a list of potential beneficiaries and training needs, key websites to search, and other relevant documents.

**4. Take high-level responsibilities in the organization of UNU-EGOV conferences, workshops, seminars and other relevant events**:

- Provide strategic planning for UNU-EGOV events in liaison with the research coordinators and the Director of UNU-EGOV;
- Play an active role in the organization of events related to the Core Research Programme, including capacity-building, assuming their global or partial coordination;
