About the business and the role
Zhongwang is an established importer/distributor of Asian grocery products. We are looking for our next warehouse superstar to join the team.
Job tasks and responsibilities
You will be bulk picking grocery product orders, which includes lifting heavy items. The environment is busy and requires a high attention to detail and awareness of your surroundings.We would like to hire one order picker with opportunity for overtime.
**Duties**:
Order picking
Palletizing in an efficient and safe manner;
Operating an electric pallet mover in a safe manner;
Safe lifting of products;
Being mindful of Occupational Health and Safety principals;
Operating a forklift and pallet jacks; (where required and licenced to do so);
Completing tasks in good time;
Perform administrative tasks as required, such as maintaining inventory records;
Multiple drops and customer service
Obeys all road and safety rules as laid out by all levels of government
Maintains telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location
Maintains truck log according to regulations
Keeps record of materials and products transported
Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo for transport
Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle
Operates equipment on vehicle to load, unload or disperse cargo or materials
Obtains customer signature or collects payment for goods delivered and delivery charges
Assists in loading and unloading truck manually and exchanging pallets where possible
Keeps the driver license in good standing
Other tasks as required from time to time
**Requirements**:
Experience as a pick/packer or warehouse assistant would be a great advantage
Have a track record of accuracy and productivity,
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Have high attention to detail
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality and commitment to work
Have a positive attitude and able to work well in a team
Comfortable lifting 45lbs of weight
Valid Canadian Driver's License and access to own car is advantageous due to the nature of the role and location of the warehouse
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
An honest and reliable picker who has the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. You will have demonstrated punctuality and commitment to your work from your previous work history and be comfortable working independently as well as in a team.
