**Role Purpose**:
The API Engineer is a critical role in terms of customer perception and will directly impact the success/reputation of Vodafone’s IoT product offering and its ability to achieve the forecasted revenue targets. The role holder will work with the product and architect team to deliver customer quality software products.

**Main Responsabilities**:

- To deliver IoT software as per said requirements, managing all aspects of software deployment and continuous integration.
- Proficient in problem determination, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Identify and recommend process improvements from time-to-time.

**Ideal Background**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree with Software Development experience;
- Good understand of API patterns and best practices(security, implementation, design);
- Experience with API security (including TLS, MTLS, OAuth);
- Good understand of APIs from usage and technology point of view of REST and SOAP;
- Professional experience of software development of languages such as Javascript, Java or similar;
- Proficient in OpenAPI documentation and usage;
- Consolidated knowledge of the various types of integration platforms, as well as integration patterns, and new market trends, preferably Apigee Product;
- Knowledge on API testing tools (ex. SoapUI, Postman);
- Basic knowledge on Linux;
- Knowledge of Agile methodology, SAFE, JIRA and Confluence are a plus;
- Professional with at least 6+ years of experience;
- Portuguese and English language proficiency.
