**What’s the role about?**

The Accounting Team Lead is part of the General Accounting Team, reporting directly to the RTR Senior Manager.This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the General Ledger and financial statements. This includes supervising and delivering activities for month-end, calculating and posting journals (including accruals), reviewing GL account reconciliations, reviewing and analysing the General Ledger.The Accounting Team Lead will oversee an Accounting Team and co-ordinate its workload and sets the objectives and priorities to ensure that a high-quality service is provided in a timely manner.

**What you'll do?**
- Perform general accounting support and month end tasks
- Review and analyse information from the general ledger and other accounting records to ensure accuracy and completeness, and take corrective action, as appropriate
- Address audit enquiries / investigation
- Create trial balance and draft financial statements
- Supervise the delivery of daily operational accounting tasks and the processing journal entries
- Oversee the execution of period-end accounting entries by posting manual journal entries and processing recharges (e.g., accruals, currency conversions, etc.)
- Oversee the postings of journals and ensure that processes are correctly followed
- Oversee the reconciliation of General Ledger / balance sheet accounts
- Support in the production of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Oversee the preparation of month-end and year-end close process
- Lead teams and manage workload efficiently
- Support employee onboarding and training
- Develop sound professional working relationships with colleagues, business staff and management, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business
- Be proactive in the provision of feedback and the delivery of ideas to develop and improve solutions
- Undertake any necessary training associated with the duties of the post and participates in training and development procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and observes data protection guidelines
- Carry out any other reasonable duties commensurate with their capability
- Support with project related activities
- Perform other reasonable duties within the Record-to-Report pillar as required
- Responsibilities during Transition period:

- Perform knowledge transfer through “train, observe, support & perform” phases, representing Porto SSC with local Entity team
- Travel to local Entity office
- Develop and maintain desktop procedures and process flows
- Support integration of newly transitioned processes into SSC; during training, hyper care and beyond
- Train new SSC team members in processes
- Contribute to continuous process improvements
- Escalate issues and feedback from local Entities

**What are we looking for?**
- Essential: _
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field
- Proven experience in RTR function (5+ years)
- Proven experience in managing people (2+ years)
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Strong financial, analytical, communication and project management skills
- Ability to develop, motivate and lead diverse teams and managing workload efficiently across resources
- Good analytical skills and detail orientated
- Strong organisation and time management
- Knowledge of ERP systems, processes and workflow technology
- Member of a professional accounting body (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, OROC, OCC or equivalent)
- Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines
- SSC/GBS experience is an advantage
