Job description/specification
Our group is seeking an experienced and highly organized professional with a proven track record to join our team as the Head of Reporting and Audit. This critical role offers an opportunity to leverage your expertise and contribute to the growth of our organization.
You will be responsible for leading our organization's financial reporting process and ensuring compliance with external statutory requirements. This involves examining and analyzing operational records, evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of operating and reporting procedures, and driving continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will have the opportunity to influence our organization's strategic direction. You will also contribute to establishing new processes and the development of our ERP system.

This position is based in the city of Maia in Portugal.
**Responsibilities**:
- Produce external financial reporting for the Group, including the Annual Report and Financial Statements and interim and preliminary statements;
- Ensure complex and significant accounting transactions are appropriately accounted for and reported at a Group level;
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management;
- Drive the continuous improvement of audit methodologies, audit approach and related practices with particular emphasis on leveraging analytics and automation;
- Examine and analyze accounting data, financial records, and operational aspects of a business to determine whether its financial statements follow generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS) and identify areas for improvement;
- Assists with enhancing the internal audit standards, processes, templates and audit techniques to increase overall efficiency and quality of internal audit delivery;
- Stay up-to-date on accounting standards and regulations.
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance;
- 5+ years of experience in an auditing or accounting role;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in accounting software;
- Fluent in English.
