**What will I be doing?**

As a Kitchen Intern, you are an essential element of the kitchen, actively participating in the success of crafting exceptional dishes. You contribute to guest delight by bringing the essence of Conrad Algarve behind restaurant doors. The visual appeal of the meals you prepare is ensured by your complete knowledge of the menu and your spark of creativity. - Prepares all food items according to standard recipes or, as otherwise specified by supervisor, to ensure consistency of product to the guest; requires transportation of heavy food products.
- Checks and controls the proper storage of product, especially on all fresh produce, checking on portion control, to maintain quality product.
- Keeps all refrigeration, storage, and working areas clean, working condition in order to comply with Health Department regulations.
- Ensures that all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working condition to comply with Health Department regulations.
- Visually inspects, selects and uses only the freshest fruits, vegetables, meats and other food products of the highest standard in the preparation of all menu items.
- Reads and employs math skills for following recipes.
- Prepares requisition for supplies and food items for production in workstation.
- Support the operational departments. When needed, anticipate their needs.
- Think out of the box, see difficulties as challenges and find solutions, try to find an innovative and different way to present something, so the other team members as well as the guests will be impressed, come up with new ideas.
- Participate in large projects in the kitchen.

**Who are we looking for?**
- Intern currently studying, preferably at Hotelschool (internship must be part of current education).
- Internship: a minimum period of 3 months.
- Good working knowledge of the kitchen fundamentals is an advantage.
- Ability to work with a Team
- A passion to learn and a drive to succeed
