Senior Manager, Application Engineering

Duties and Responsibilities aligned with Ryan Key Results:
People
- Mentor and develop team members to aid them in the areas of resolving technical problems, leading by example, prioritizing, and decision making
- Partner with leadership to influence and drive technical vision and product roadmap

Client
- Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Product, and Sales teams to continually respond to changing market needs, support requests, and aid in problem resolution
- Drive the execution and delivery of features by collaborating with many cross-functional teams, architects, product owner, and engineers
- Organize and maintain development team sprints and backlogs in conjunction with the Product and Design teams to facilitate efficient work and project reporting

Value

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent related work experience.

Additional Experience and Skills:

- Great understanding of Agile processes and development methodologies
- Experience in recruiting, building, and leading engineering teams
- Experience with effectively creating alignment with multiple teams and operating well in ambiguity
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, continuous build processes, testing, and operations
- Familiarity with languages such as Typescript/JavaScript, C#, SQL, and frameworks such as Angular/React,.NET, etc.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required.

Work Environment:

- Standard indoor working environment
- Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
- Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the firm as well as interaction with external vendors and clients as necessary
- Independent travel requirement: up to 10%
