In the financial year ending 31 March 2019, Global Blue processed 36 million Tax Free Shopping transactions with a total value of €18.2 billion sales in store, and 28 million Added-Value Payment Solutions transactions with a total value of €4.4 billion sales in store.
- Nature and aim of the position

Reporting to the head of sales, the Area Manager (ALGARVE) responsibilities include maintaining a deeper knowledge of our business and offerings, developing and implementing strategic plans to grow accounts, managing and strengthening client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver on client expectations.

It is a field sales position responsible to manage the Algarve area and a customer’s portfolio assigned. The Area Manager will have main objective to create all the preconditions for the stores and hotels to deliver the best performance in terms of Tax Free Shopping and Dynamic Currency conversion.

To be successful as an Area manager, you should be able to work in total autonomy, be a self-motivated person with a strong communication, customer oriented, and account management skills and be highly organized and accomplished at solving problems and closing deals.
- Main areas of responsibility
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to manage and grow accounts on hospitality and retail sectors within the region
- Undertake business initiatives and decisions needed to achieve assigned objectives, to catch opportunities, to minimize risk exposure
- Cross sell GB products to existing accounts
- Maximize Tax Free business
- Maximize Dynamic Currency conversion business
- Monitoring the performance of the sales within the region reaching the targets and goals set
- Managing, training, and providing overall guidance to partner stores and hotels staff
- Understanding the market and identifying new business opportunities within the region
- Providing superior customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Retaining clients and building strong, trusting relationships.
- Communicating and coordinating with internal teams to deliver solutions.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing new tools and processes.
- Developing and maintaining excellent knowledge and understanding of our business, offerings, competitors, and industry.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Solid Sales background minimum of 3-5 years, results and customer orientation
- Experience in B 2 B in transactional/recurrent business or B 2 B 2 C.
- Retail, hospitality or payments sector-specific sales experience is a “plus”
- Good level of English
