Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Youth Development Program Staff Member at the Boys & Girls Club.

Duties
  • Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, promoting program participation through day-to-day activities in accordance with established expectations.
  • Orient new members to the Club's daily scheduling and program expectations, providing guidance, role modeling, and constructive feedback to promote development and skill building.
  • Demonstrate leadership through consistent use of safety and licensing best practices, ensuring proper conduct and safety of members.
  • Oversee and assist in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining program space and upkeep.
Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision
  • Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for members, monitoring and evaluating them to ensure Club and child safety, quality programs, and good appearance of the branch/site.
  • Ensure evaluation of Club programs continually, including tracking outcome metrics, verifying that programs/activities respond to member needs and addresses their gender and cultural diversity.
  • Document any problems or issues that may arise on a day-to-day basis through the use of injury/incident reports.
  • Communicate with child care licensing and DCYF when applicable.
  • Participate in special programs and/or events, staff meetings, and facilitate open and effective communication with families, staff, and members.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and have a minimum of 600 hours working in a school-age program, or have documentation of at least 3 credits in child development, education, recreation, or another field of study focused on children.
  • Knowledge of youth development, ability to motivate youth, manage behavior problems, communicate with parents/guardians, plan and implement quality programs for youth, and organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications required, occasional travel and driving Club van/short bus may be required.
Additional Expectations
  • FBI fingerprint background check and State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and FirstAdvantage background check required.
  • Zero-tolerance policy for abuse and mistreatment.
