Job title: AP Accountant | Payments
Reporting to: Accounts Payable Team Leader | Payments
Location: Porto, kp Business Services

Purpose of the job

Processing payments activities and payment reports in the Shared Service Centre (SSC)

Responsibilities

- Payment of liabilities (suppliers, Intercompany, T&E, taxes, payroll, customer refunds);
- Reconciliation of yet to be performed payments, execution of payment run and transfer to bank;
- Analysis of accounts and invoice status;
- Communication with Treasury Team and Banks, to assure alignment of cash availability and solve any queries;
- Execution of AP Balance and DPO Forecast;
- Support in the preparation of financial statements and reports execution;
- Participation in project work; Suggest and implement improvements in payments processes and/or other team processes that can bring efficiencies to the company;
- Handling external and internal queries via email / phone;
- Provide support related to annual and interim audits;
- Perform internal audit & regular controls.

- Team player;
- Treat sensitive and/or confidential information appropriately;
- Review work performed by Junior Accountants and provide training;
- Work effectively with people from all backgrounds, promoting inclusion and respect for diversity;
- Build Trust and Partnerships.

Knowledge

- Knowledge of IFRS;
- Knowledge of accounting standards in one of the following GAAPs: Portugal, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, UK or USA;
- Knowledge of cost and performance accounting.

Functional/Technical Skills

- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field;
- Good knowledge of English and another European language (German, Italian, French, Spanish and Dutch preferred);
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office;
- Strong Team Work skills;
- Good analytical and Organisation skills;
- Effective business writing and professional communication skills;
- Ability to work in an international global work environment.

Experience

- 5+ years of professional experience in finance and accounting or equivalent;
- Experience within a Shared Service Centre environment and transition.
