Power Management is one of the eight functional development teams, within the Turbine Control Software Module. We control the power supply to all critical systems inside the turbine, keeping power consumption within required levels, minimizing turbine downtime, and preventing structural damage, all carried out in close collaboration with Hardware stakeholders. The team consists of highly skilled, highly experienced, international engineers across Portugal, Denmark and India, who are taking responsibility for all aspects of the Software deliverables.
Responsibilities
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will:
1. Engage with complex domains, on a complex business market
2. Collaborate closely with other members of the team, organization, and stakeholders
3. Be responsible for implementing and testing SW, according to stakeholder needs and priorities
4. Be responsible for implementing and testing SW, according to technology best practices and high-quality standards
5. Be responsible for maintaining software functionality, and comprehensive technical documentation
6. Participate in full SDLC activities using Agile best practices
7. Participate in functional and software requirement definitions for the Turbine Control Systems
8. Conduct root cause analysis to identify potential turbine performance issues
9. Be a significant contributor to the continuous improvement of our software, processes, and best practices, promoting engineering high standards
10. Be a mentor for more junior fellow software engineers
11. Be a technological reference in the team, to overcome complex technical obstacles and adopt best practices
Qualifications
1. MSc or BSc in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer-science or similar
2. Solid experience in C/C++ development best practices
3. Solid experience in Object Oriented & State Machine based software design
4. Experience with Agile processes and best practices
5. Minimum 4 years of work experience
Beneficial
1. Experience in scripting languages Ruby/Python/Bash
2. Experience with GIT, JIRA, and other Atlassian tools
3. Experience/inspired by embedded software
