Mulesoft Integration Architect

Role: Senior MuleSoft Integration Architect: Experienced Senior MuleSoft Integration Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. This role requires strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to deliver scalable, secure, and reusable integration frameworks that align with business objectives. Responsibilities: Integration Architecture & Strategy: • Define the enterprise integration roadmap using API-led connectivity principles. • Develop high-level architecture diagrams, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks. • Establish governance models for API lifecycle management, versioning, and security. • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., SOA, microservices, event-driven architecture). • Evaluate and recommend integration tools and technologies to optimize performance and scalability. Solution Design & Delivery: • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for MuleSoft integrations. • Design end-to-end integration solutions across on-premise and cloud systems. • Create RAML/OAS specifications for APIs and ensure proper documentation. • Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring strategies for robust integrations. • Optimize DataWeave transformations for complex data mapping and performance tuning. • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies for critical integrations. Technical Leadership & Collaboration: • Act as the technical authority for all MuleSoft-related projects. Internal - General Use • Mentor developers on best practices, coding standards, and performance optimization. • Conduct code reviews and enforce compliance with architectural guidelines. • Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and other architects to align integration solutions with business goals. • Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and maintain technical documentation. DevOps & Automation: • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft deployments using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. • Automate API testing and deployment processes to reduce manual effort. • Integrate MuleSoft with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK) for proactive issue detection. • Implement environment management strategies for development, QA, and production. • Ensure secure deployment practices and compliance with organizational security policies. Performance & Security: • Conduct performance tuning for Mule applications and APIs. • Implement API security policies (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML) and enforce encryption standards. • Monitor API usage and analytics to identify optimization opportunities. • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) where applicable. Continuous Improvement: • Stay updated on MuleSoft product enhancements and industry trends. • Recommend process improvements and new integration patterns. • Drive innovation initiatives for automation and modernization of legacy systems. Required Qualifications: • 12+ years in integration architecture, with at least 8+ years on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. • Expertise in API-led connectivity, Mule 4, DataWeave, CloudHub, and API Manager. Internal - General Use • Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, microservices, and ESB patterns. • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD automation. • MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect or Platform Architect preferred. • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Skills: • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Knowledge of security standards (OAuth, SAML, JWT). • Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Key KPIs: • On-Time Delivery Rate: Percentage of integration projects delivered within agreed timelines. • Defect Density: Number of defects per integration component post-deployment. • First-Time Right Deployments: Percentage of deployments without rollback or major issues. • API Response Time: Average latency for APIs under normal and peak loads. • System Uptime: Percentage of time integration services are available (target: 99.9%+). • Reusable Asset Ratio: Percentage of APIs/components reused across projects. • Security Incidents: Number of vulnerabilities or breaches reported. • CI/CD Automation Coverage: Percentage of deployments automated through pipelines. • Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR): Average time to resolve integration-related incidents. • Business Satisfaction Score: Feedback rating from stakeholders on integration solutions. • Innovation Initiatives: Number of new patterns, frameworks, or tools introduced.
