System Administrator Location Our System's Administrator will be a part of our R+D team. We are open to Remote or Hybrid working in Romania, Portugal or wider Europe. If you have experience in fintech or a related field, we'd love to have you join our fast-growing company What you'll do We are seeking a System Administrator to maintain, optimize, and secure our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience managing servers, networks, security protocols, devices and cloud-based services while ensuring high availability and performance across all systems. A high degree of autonomy is required, the candidate will be expected to own systems/processes and work with leadership to prioritise tasks and build a roadmap. Responsibilities: System Management: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance. Network Administration: Manage and troubleshoot networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Security & Compliance: Implement security measures, monitor for vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with best practices. User & Access Management: Control user permissions, set up accounts, and enforce security policies. Software & Patch Management: Install, update, and maintain applications, ensuring compatibility and security. Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain backup solutions to ensure business continuity, and assist with handling incidents. Hardware & Asset Management: Oversee IT hardware, including servers, workstations, devices and peripherals, ensuring proper maintenance and lifecycle management. Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting for IT-related issues, assisting users with system problems. Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date system documentation, policies, and reports on system performance and incidents. Requirements: Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar IT role. Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, or macOS server environments. Experience with networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and security best practices. Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and containers (Docker, ECS, K8s). Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNA) are a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and IAM solutions. Experience with Google Workspace administration is a plus Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Splunk). Knowledge of ITIL practices for incident and change management.
