In Power Solutions, we cover the full life-time of our products, from the early exploring and incubation of new technologies to the handling of CIM cases on our installed fleet. We work closely with our colleagues across Vestas to deliver customer value. The Power Solutions Porto and Chennai build and add capacity and capability to the global engineering organization. Working together with the other Power Solutions in Denmark, Germany, and the UK, Chennai and Porto Engineering Centres focus on the research and development and engineering support spanning all of Vestas' product portfolio. With a broad engineering capability spanning all engineering disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, controls, software, and data analytics, these centres strengthen the global R&D setup within a creative and engaging environment. With the right competences and tools and through lean and efficient processes, we create design solutions for all Vestas product portfolio, aiming to reduce complexity and facilitate efficiency improvements.ResponsibilitiesExtract, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data from a range of sources related to the Powertrain module.Involve external partners such as research institutes or suppliers, requiring a combination of proven technical competences, effective communication skills, and a commercial mindset.Deliver technical and innovative activities.Become part of a cross-functional engineering team responsible for the delivery of work packages and technical solutions to the entire Powertrain area.Develop and research projects to ensure that the Powertrain system and its components meet our expectations.Plan, implement, evaluate, and report your analysis results as input to the design and verification activities of our wind turbine product platforms within On- and Offshore projects.Work closely with stakeholders to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making.Build algorithms to extract data to report to colleagues, customers, or the wider organization.Assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods.Develop algorithms for data extraction, preparation, management, and visualization.Support and facilitate utilization and connection methods and results across the Powertrain area.QualificationsMaster's degree in Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Science, or similar.Familiarity with rotating machinery (gears, bearings, etc) from Wind Turbine, Aerospace, or Heavy Industries; experience with scripting (Python, MATLAB, or similar) and version control (git, or similar).Experience working with databases and different data structures.Fluent in English (written and spoken).Ability to work in a complex and varied environment.CompetenciesYour analytical skills, combined with your university education, enable you to focus your activities on finding the optimum technical solution within the given boundaries.Your pro-active and motivated personality helps you achieve your results by setting direction, defining task precedence, and ensuring necessary conclusions can be taken.Your structured and organized way of working allows you to plan and prioritize tasks while keeping focus on overall targets.Your organizational and communicative skills enable you to achieve results through international and multi-disciplinary teams involving colleagues from various parts of Vestas.What we offerWe offer you a creative position with excellent professional and personal development opportunities in an inspiring, international work environment at an established manufacturer of wind turbines.Additional informationWe look forward to receiving your application as soon as possible, as we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis.
