The Role We are seeking a System Administrator with cybersecurity experience to ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. This hybrid role combines classic systems administration with responsibility for implementing and monitoring cybersecurity practices, safeguarding sensitive data, and supporting compliance requirements in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. You will manage day-to-day IT operations (servers, networks, cloud systems), while also strengthening our security posture through audits, monitoring, and best-practice implementation. Key Responsibilities Systems Administration Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and cloud environments (Windows, Linux, AWS, Azure). Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and monitor system performance. Maintain and optimize network connectivity, VPN access, and firewall configurations. Oversee backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability. Provide 2nd-level technical support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations. Cybersecurity Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures. Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and patch management. Monitor and manage security tools such as firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions. Support compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GxP). Develop and test incident response and recovery plans. Provide user training and awareness sessions on cybersecurity best practices. Your Profile Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 4+ years of experience in system administration with exposure to cybersecurity. Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure). Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and firewall management. Hands-on experience with security monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus/endpoint protection). Familiarity with compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, GxP). Scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
