We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead Backend (Java) to join a high-impact project, working with large-scale distributed systems in a cloud-native environment. This role combines strong hands-on technical leadership with people and stakeholder management. Candidates must be living in Portugal. Key Responsibilities: Lead and guide backend engineering teams; Drive architectural and system design decisions; Develop and maintain backend services using Java & Spring Boot; Ensurescalability, reliability, and code quality; Mentor and support team members' technical growth; Manage technical planning, dependencies, and risks; Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and directors; Balance hands-on development with leadership responsibilities; Work in aremote/hybrid, international environment. Required Skills: 5+ years of backend development experience; Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot; Experience with distributed systems and microservices; Solid knowledgeof REST APIs and SQL; Hands-onexperience with Docker and Kubernetes; Cloud experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP); Strongsystem design skills (Amazon/Google-level rigor); Proven technical leadership experience; Englishfluency (minimum B2).
