THE ROLE: The Billing Operations Specialist is responsible for executing and controlling end-to-end billing operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing, directly supporting revenue integrity, financial reporting, and customer trust. This position operates at the intersection of billing operations, finance controls, and enterprise systems, with strong exposure to telecom / ICT billing environments. Key Responsibilities 1. Billing Execution & Operations Execute and manage end-to-end billing cycles, including rating, invoicing, re-invoicing, and billing close activities Monitor and execute batch jobs and billing runs across billing platforms Perform daily validation of billing data, completeness checks, and cycle reconciliations Ensure billing timelines are met in line with financial close calendars 2. Data Reconciliation & Revenue Assurance Reconcile billing data between billing systems (e.g., Oracle) and financial systems (e.g., SAP) Identify, analyze, and resolve missing, delayed, or anomalous invoices Perform historical billing analysis to detect revenue leakage, under-billing, or data inconsistencies Track and follow up on unbilled or under-billed items to ensure revenue completeness 3. Systems & Master Data Management (Functional Scope) Maintain billing master data and customer billing configurations Manage functional access and user roles within SAP (basis roles) & billing applications (as per defined controls) Support configuration changes related to billing parameters, products, and rating structures Coordinate with IT and system administrators for technical issues and system enhancements 4. Financial Posting & Period Close Support Post billing-related transactions, accruals, and adjustments in SAP or equivalent ERP systems Prepare and validate billing activity reports for finance and management consumption Support month-end and quarter-end closing activities related to billing and revenue recognition 5. Controls, Audit & Process Improvement Support internal and external audits by providing billing data, reconciliations, and documentation Perform periodic system and process health checks to ensure control effectiveness Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and billing documentation Actively contribute to process standardization, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement programs Key Interfaces Finance & Accounting Revenue Assurance IT / Billing Systems Teams Customer Operations / Service Delivery Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline Experience 3–6 years of experience in: Billing operations Telecom / ICT billing environments Finance operations or revenue operations Exposure to enterprise billing systems and ERP platforms is essential Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience with: Billing systems (Oracle Billing, custom telecom billing platforms, or equivalent) SAP Basis or equivalent ERP for postings and reconciliations Unix / Linux environments and batch job monitoring Strong proficiency in: MS Excel and data analysis Reconciliation techniques and control reporting Core Competencies Strong attention to detail and data accuracy orientation Ability to work under tight closing deadlines Ownership mindset with high accountability for revenue integrity Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication with finance, IT, and operations stakeholders
