Job Description:
As an Energy Market Risk Specialist at Galp, you will play a pivotal role in managing overall risk models, market risk analysis for new transactions, and establishing risk indicators and limits. This is a critical position within the Risk Management & Control team, providing a broader view across all Energy Management Commodities (Oil, Natural Gas, and Power).

Main Responsibilities:
  • Identify, manage, oversee, mitigate and advise commodity trading desks and origination teams on markets, operational and control opportunities and risks.
  • Assist in identifying significant risks within the trading portfolio, ensuring transparency to senior management.
  • Built, update and maintain an overall risk management model and policy.
  • Monitor and report risk management limits.
  • Provide independent analysis, review and guidance on New Business Proposals, ensuring an optimal level of risk/return.
  • Understand day-to-day drivers of price volatility and impacts on trading portfolios.
