Job Description

We are seeking an Internal Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team in Lisbon for a 12-month period. After this time, we will re-evaluate our general finance department needs, and you may be rotated to a more general finance function, such as financial controller. As the central point of contact, you will ensure we remain compliant with CIT and VAT requirements, with support from external advisors in various jurisdictions.

  • Handle lesser complex corporate income tax declarations
  • Support in making available information for returns preparation locally
  • Support in preparing VAT returns
  • Manage internal tax accounting processes
Responsibilities

You will report to the Tax Compliance Manager based in the Netherlands and work with local and global finance teams to bring clarity, discipline, and structure to the finance process related to tax compliance.

  • Prepare and track the tax position for the Group throughout the year
  • Prepare tax accounting entries throughout the year and at year-end
  • Support on Transfer Pricing compliance cycle
  • Review VAT returns and positions of group companies
  • Pick up on other compliance activities where needed
Qualifications

We seek an enthusiastic professional eager to learn on the job. Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor education in finance or tax
  • 2-4 years' experience, preferably with a big4 firm or corporate multinational
  • Experience with (complex) CIT returns, VAT returns, and tax reporting packages
  • Experience with creating reports and successfully operating within a matrix environment
  • Excellent communication in English and interpersonal skills
