About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to join our Planning & Engineering team at FedEx. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing diverse engineering responsibilities across multiple operational locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and undertake engineering initiatives to support local operational goals.
  • Provide technical expertise and ongoing support to cross-functional project teams.
  • Utilize modeling tools to translate volumes and assumptions into accurate and realistic resource and productivity plans.
  • Determine operation's targets and work with established methods and best practices to model established operations.
  • Participate in the development of strategic plans by acting as the key party/local subject matter expert for a specific location/area.
  • Communicate new plans to local management ensuring understanding and implementation support.
  • Stay up-to-date with new and changing technologies and methodologies in the market place related to own area of responsibility.
  • Conduct independent audits focusing on defined areas and/or participate in audit project teams focusing on specific operational areas or locations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to senior management in operations and P&E.
  • Lead and undertake specific specialized studies.

Requirements:

  • Degree or professional qualification in Industrial Engineering or quantitative discipline.
  • Excellent command of English both written and spoken.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to recognize improvement opportunities.
  • Experience of developing solutions to operational business challenges.
  • Good understanding of the business environment and how strategy is translated into business-focused solutions.
  • Experience of defining & developing the engineering elements of a business plan for a specific location(s).
  • Able to work effectively with different cultures & nationalities.
  • Experience of presenting scenarios to management.
  • Able to translate technical information and model outputs into user-friendly lay language and format.
  • Experience of utilizing relevant software tools (e.g. Excel, Word, MS Project) to translate business needs into computerized simulations.
  • Experience of utilizing analytical concepts & tools.
  • Able to perform audits of processes and procedures.
  • Good financial awareness.
  • Analytical thinker with a creative and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Result and target-oriented, flexible approach towards work and willingness to travel.
