Job Title: Data Science Engineer - Powertrain

Vestas is seeking a highly skilled Data Science Engineer to join our Powertrain team. As a Data Science Engineer, you will be responsible for extracting, analyzing, and interpreting large amounts of data from various sources related to the Powertrain module.

Responsibilities:
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data from various sources related to the Powertrain module.
  • Develop and research projects to ensure that the Powertrain system and its components meet our expectations.
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and report analysis results as input to the design and verification activities of our wind turbine product platforms.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making.
  • Build algorithms to extract data to report to colleagues, customers, or the wider organization.
  • Assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods.
  • Develop algorithms for data extraction, preparation, management, and visualization.
  • Support and facilitate utilization and connection methods and results across the Powertrain area.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Science, or similar.
  • Familiar with rotating machinery (gears, bearings, etc) from Wind Turbine, Aerospace, or Heavy Industries.
  • Experience with scripting (Python, MATLAB, or similar) and version control (git, or similar).
  • Experience working with databases and different data structures.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work in a complex and varied environment.
