Exciting Opportunity for Senior Frontend Developer

At Hiscox, we're on a mission to transform our Re & ILS business unit by integrating, aligning, and re-platforming our modelling, pricing, and portfolio optimisation systems. As a key member of our Software Engineering team, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering high-quality user interfaces.

About the Role

We're looking for a strong Senior Frontend Engineer with expertise in React.js, TypeScript, and CSS frameworks. You'll work closely with our Innovation squads to create new 'Cloud First' solutions that drive business value. Your primary focus will be on managing a small team, including some line management responsibilities, while ensuring the development and enhancement of our web applications meet the Product Owner's vision efficiently and securely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team of UI/UX developers, including some line management responsibility
  • Develop and maintain web applications, building responsive and high-performance user interfaces using React.js with TypeScript
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team to implement new features and improve existing ones
  • Write clean, maintainable, and secure code, ensuring quality and security through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven commercial experience as a Frontend engineer using React.js with TypeScript
  • Experience working with business users and/or Product Owners to turn business requirements into technical requirements
  • Strong commercial experience of responsive design principles
  • Experience of calling RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services
What We Offer

Hiscox offers a competitive salary range of €60,000 - €120,000 per annum, based on location and experience. Our benefits package includes:

  • A healthy work-life balance with 35 hours/week and hybrid working system
  • 25 days + 2 Hiscox Days (Extra two Annual Leave)
  • Health insurance, gym allowance, pension plan, etc.
  • After 5 years of work, 1-month sabbatical leave
