We are seeking a dedicated Primary School Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join our vibrant team at King's College, Cascais. This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate language educator to introduce young learners to the beauty of different languages and cultures.

About the Role:

  1. Teaching Modern Foreign Languages (MFL): You will teach MFL to primary school students, focusing on early language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
  2. Delivering Engaging Lessons: You will deliver interactive lessons in one or more foreign languages, with an emphasis on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
  3. Fostering a Love for Language Learning: You will foster a love for language learning by incorporating creative teaching strategies, such as games, music, and cultural activities.
  4. Differentiated Lesson Plans: You will create lesson plans to meet the diverse learning needs and levels of language proficiency within the class.
  5. Assessment and Reporting: You will regularly assess and report on student progress, providing feedback to support their language development.
  6. Technology Integration: You will integrate technology and digital tools into lessons to enhance language learning and student engagement.
  7. Language-Focused Events: You will organise and participate in language-focused events, such as language days, cultural festivals, or trips to promote linguistic and cultural immersion.
  8. Interdisciplinary Projects: You will collaborate with other teachers to create interdisciplinary projects that integrate language learning with other subjects.
  9. Extra-Curricular Programs: You will contribute to the school's extra-curricular programs, such as language clubs or conversational practice groups.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related field with a recognised teaching qualification.
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience, ideally in an international or British school, with a focus on primary language teaching.
  • Fluency in one or more foreign languages (French and/or Spanish) and the ability to teach primary-aged students.
  • A passion for language learning and fostering a love for languages in young learners.
