Job Description

As an Actuarial Expert, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of actuarial services, mentor junior colleagues, and support key projects in the Western Europe/Germany or UK pensions market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an expert on pensions, particularly within Western Europe/Germany/UK, addressing complex actuarial issues.
  • Produce and analyze data reports for clients, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all deliverables.
  • Plan, prioritize, and deliver assigned project activities, keeping track of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
  • Work with consulting office teams, provide support to senior colleagues, and mentor junior analysts.
  • Identify and address risks or errors early, following company procedures.
  • Stay up to date on regulatory and statutory requirements, ensuring compliance in all work.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, offering technical insights and solutions.

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a solid actuarial background and strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have:

FIA Qualification or Good Progress Towards It: We require a strong foundation in actuarial science, ideally with FIA qualification or good progress towards it.

Experience in Actuarial Valuations or Consultancy: Experience in actuarial valuations or consultancy, particularly in the pensions sector, is essential.

In-Depth Knowledge of Western Europe/UK DB Pensions: In-depth knowledge of Western Europe/UK DB Pensions, including familiarity with legislative requirements such as GMP, is necessary.

Strong Excel Skills: Strong Excel skills for high-level data analysis and reconciliation are required.

Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, are essential.

Collaborative Mindset: A proven ability to work collaboratively, support team members, and foster a culture of teamwork is crucial.

Demonstrated Attention to Detail: Demonstrated attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes are must-haves.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
