Aquaculture Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated technician to support and assist in the operation and services of the Champalimaud Fish Platform. The selected candidate will join a dynamic and detail-oriented team with a strong team spirit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance of recirculating aquaculture systems for multiple freshwater fish species and related equipment;
Monitorization of water quality;
Maintenance of livefeed cultures;
Crosses, housings and embryo care;
Larval rearing;
Record keeping;
Fish health checks;
Technical assistance to researchers;
Other tasks relevant for the maintenance and development of high scientific and animal welfare standards.

This is a full-time position requiring the ability to prioritize efficiently and multitask, without compromising attention to detail and record keeping. The postholder will be asked to work within an on-call rota and to adjust daily duties according to the needs of the Platform. The ideal candidate will be organized, responsible, committed, and a team worker. Strong logical skills are also required.

Requirements:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor degree in Life/Biological Sciences;
Excellent communication skills;
Strong teamwork skills;
Excellent Level of English.

Selection Process:
