Job Summary

This position performs radiography (x-ray) examinations to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiation safety procedures and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares patients for exams, obtains and records vital signs, and explains procedures
  • Administers IV and contrast when necessary, positions patients for exams, and selects appropriate imaging techniques
  • Ensures technical quality of images and enters patient data
  • Performs quality assurance on radiology equipment and assists with accreditation
  • Identifies and reports accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions
  • May take emergency calls, work weekends, and float to other locations as needed
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT)
  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)
