Job Summary

This position performs radiography (x-ray) examinations to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The Radiology Technologist will prepare patients for exams, obtain and record vital signs, explain procedures, and position patients for imaging. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiation safety procedures and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Performs radiography exams on patients, ensuring compliance with radiation safety procedures
* Prepares patients for exams, obtains and records vital signs, and explains procedures
* Positions patients for imaging and selects appropriate imaging techniques
* Enters and monitors patient data, and performs quality assurance on radiology equipment
* May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation
* Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management

Requirements

* Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
* Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support
* Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT)
* Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)
