About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English teacher to join our team at PaRK International School in Lisbon. As a teacher of English, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating students to achieve academic excellence in GCSE and A-Level curricula.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve academic excellence in GCSE and A-Level curricula.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the GCSE and A-Level curricula and ensure students meet academic targets.
  • Develop effective lesson plans that cater to individual learning needs and promote a positive classroom environment.
  • Utilize assessments for learning to track, monitor, and enhance student progress.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline in the classroom.
  • Contribute to school improvement and development planning, aligning teaching with the school's educational goals.
  • Promote the well-being of individual students and tutor groups, addressing academic or personal challenges through collaboration with staff and parents.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities that enrich students' educational experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute positively to school morale, staff collaboration, and cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay current with best teaching practices and enhance the quality of education.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree in the subject area and a valid teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching at the secondary level, with expertise in GCSE and A-Level curricula.
  • Strong ability to engage and motivate students, fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, ensuring high standards of behaviour and a purposeful learning atmosphere.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology and modern teaching methods to enhance learning opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students and support individual learning pathways.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with current educational practices and trends.
  • Experience in contributing to school improvement and development planning.
