Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Combat Systems Integration Manager or Project Manager - Naval Engineering to join our esteemed team at the Naval Engineering Center (NEC). This pivotal role involves defining and integrating combat system solutions, ensuring operational advantage for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Package Organisation and Planning:
    • Achieve project objectives by leading cross-functional teams in work package planning and execution.
    • Develop comprehensive work packages, including detailed schedules, resource allocation, and cost estimation.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring project deliverables meet quality and safety standards.
  • Work Package Launch:
    • Refine project scope and timelines through continuous stakeholder engagement and communication.
    • Define and implement project-specific key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Work Package Execution:
    • Maintain situational awareness of project developments, addressing deviations promptly to ensure timely delivery.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying lessons learned and implementing corrective actions to enhance future project outcomes.
  • Work Package Monitoring and Control:
    • Monitor and report on project progress, highlighting achievements and challenges to stakeholders.
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with team members, suppliers, and clients to resolve issues and address concerns.
  • Quality of Deliverables:
    • Promote a culture of quality excellence, focusing on delivering high-quality products and services within budget and schedule constraints.
    • Establish and maintain configuration management processes to ensure accurate documentation and records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Key Stakeholder Relations:
    • Nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering trust and open communication to drive project success.
    • Represent the project team as needed, providing updates and insights to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Capture of Lessons Learned:
    • Systematically collect, analyze, and document project experiences and best practices to inform future improvements.
    • Publish knowledge sharing articles or case studies to amplify learning and promote organizational growth.
    Requirements
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Aeronautical/Space, Computer Science), or a relevant technical field.
    • Experience: Proven track record in software/hardware development, systems engineering, integration & verification, validation & qualification (IVVQ) activities, or related fields.
    • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, passion for lifelong learning, and a demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
