We are seeking an experienced Operations Technical Authority – Technical Safety to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical input to prevent and mitigate Major Accident Events, which pose a significant risk to personnel, assets, the environment, and company reputation.
Main Responsibilities:- Set and maintain Performance Standards for SECEs within their discipline;
- Monitor competence and compliance through periodic inspections of operating units and contractors against performance standards;
- Own and maintain Formal Safety Assessments supporting safe operations;
- Make decisions on the suitability of SECEs within their discipline;
- Support Operational Risk Assessments to assess cumulative risks of hazardous scenarios on units in their Region;
- Provide technical input to Regional Management on significant risks within their portfolio;
- Monitor MoCs and Process Safety Critical Information on Units and provide forward planning to the Regional Process Safety Manager;
- Facilitate resource input to studies as required;
- Support other OTAs in interpreting outcomes of Formal Safety Assessments on their units;
- Support monitoring of Process Safety Performance and reporting progress to Regional and Operations Management Teams;
- Define objectives for Process Safety Management for Units with Regional Process Safety Manager and Regional Management Team;
- Assist Unit Managers with planning Safety Case Reviews and Revisions via Operations Safety Case and Process Safety Leads;
- Provide training and awareness in technical process safety processes and studies;
- Perform Process Safety audits to verify effectiveness of barriers;
- Provide technical input, support, or lead Tier 1 and Tier 2 Process Safety Events investigations;
- Share best practices; develop initiatives to learn from other unit operations and HQ;
- Act as Technical interface for process safety with OTA2 and Group Technical organisations;
- Promote and develop Process Safety Culture on Units.
