Job Title: Mainframe CICS Systems Programmer

Location: Hybrid environment

Job Type: 12+ Months Contract

Rate: CAD65/hr on INC + HST

The Mainframe CICS Systems Programmer is responsible for all phases of CICS engineering, system and software maintenance, and CICS related operation functions. As a key member of the Enterprise Technology team, you will work closely with application developers and operations teams to ensure the stability, security, and performance of the CICS environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CICS configurations, including setup, customization, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform CICS performance tuning and debugging, and analyze dump data to identify and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with application developers to resolve CICS-related issues and implement changes.
  • Develop and maintain CICS documentation, including procedures and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of CICS, including configuration, performance tuning, and debugging.
  • Experience with CICS TS V5.x and V6.x environments.
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 large scale Sysplex and CICSPlex environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Cobol programming skills.
  • Experience with Mainframe Websphere MQ.
  • Familiarity with zOS facilities such as APF, Linklist, VSAM, LPA, RLS, and Coupling Facility.
