About the Role

We're seeking a talented multi-disciplinary Data Platform Engineer with a passion for infrastructure, who will be responsible for the performance, scale, and stability of our core streaming platform. As a data-driven organization, we ingest massive amounts of data at high rates, demanding scalable and resilient solutions.

As a key member of the Data Platform group, you'll develop self-service tools that support the accessibility of our platform for other dev departments. We rely on your expertise to consult and share knowledge with others.

  • Design and implement a future-proof data streaming platform in Riskified, ensuring real-time and near-real-time scalability and resilience.
  • Administrate, provision, and monitor our streaming platform to guarantee seamless operation.
  • Maintain and enhance the Streaming related Application infrastructure, continuously improving its performance.
  • Collaborate with development teams and mentor colleagues to drive innovation and knowledge sharing.
  • Apply creativity to resolve complex and high-scale data-related issues, utilizing your technical expertise.
  • Research new technologies, starting from proof-of-concept to production-grade systems, driving continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Big Data Infrastructure engineer.
  2. Hands-on experience with Data Streaming technologies: Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, Spark Streaming, Kstream, and Apache Flink.
  3. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
  4. Experience working on high-scale, production-grade projects, delivering results under tight deadlines.
Advantage
  1. Experience with the Cloud Native stack: Kubernetes, Prometheus, Istio, etc.
  2. Experience with cloud providers: AWS, Google, etc.
  3. Proficiency with Infrastructure tools: Helm, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
  4. Knowledge of Scala programming language.
