Culinary Operations Manager

Six Senses Douro Valley is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team.
Key Responsibilities:- Culinary Excellence: Continuously focus on the rejuvenation of the culinary experience, ensuring that menus and wine lists remain relevant and aligned with Eat With Six Senses practices.
- Purchasing and Inventory Management: Establish purchasing practices that meet the requirements of the Six Senses nutrition and sustainability platforms, instilling a cost-focused philosophy through training and education.
- Departmental Operations: Operate the department consistently with all legal, statutory, and financial requirements, implementing and maintaining reporting systems, contractual obligations, security and safety protocols, communications, product and service standards, host management practices, and budgetary controls.
- Quality Assurance: Strictly adhere to LQA standards and guest comments, continually assessing and improving the quality of food and beverages served.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of kitchen experience in a full-service outlet or similar setting. Hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality school is preferred.
- Culinary Skills: Knowledge of broiler equipment, meat and fish cookery, proficient knife skills, and understanding of farm-to-table concept.
- Alcohol Awareness Certification: Possess alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
- Languages: Fluency in English; additional languages are preferred.
- Work Visa: Possess relevant work visas to work in EU.
The estimated salary for this position is €55,000 - €65,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include comprehensive health insurance, meal allowances, and opportunities for career growth and development.
